yes – it’s called ‘dissimilar metal contact’ one of the two will accelerate the corrosion process, you’ll have to use something made of copper or plastic.

I know aluminum has gone up in price. I know very little about gutter material. Durability, leaf guards, etc. I am on a limited income, and need the most and best for my few bucks. Thanks Lee

Go with aluminum seamless gutter ,plastic only comes in 10 ft lenghts so you would have more seams which means more chances of it leaking
A easy formula to figure out whataluminumn gutter will cost is and it goes by linear footage so measure your house where gutters would go and then add 12 LF for each downspout you will need about 4 and you have the total and if you call a contractor they will give you a free estimate but it should cost you about $2-$3 a Linear foot
everyone is hurting for work so get a couple bids and go back and forth for the best price
Also leaf guard is expensive about $4 a LF look for similar products that are cheaper
hope this helps

I’m considering purchasing the Leaf Relief gutter guards by Alcoa for my gutters. I have severe issues with pine needles and leaves clogging up my gutters most of the year. My previous home had Leaf Guard which worked excellent but is too expensive for my new home due to the linear footage. I like the simplicity of Leaf Relief but it looks like it will retain a lot of pine needles before they dry out and blow away. I know there are dozens of different options out there but I want something I can have installed and forget. I also own a ranch home so options that fit under the first row of shingles don’t really appeal to me due to asthetics. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Leaf Relief is a good product. When we’ve installed it we put it on the gutter before we hung the gutter. So keep in mind you may need to take the gutter partially down if you need to get in there and clean it out, which shouldn’t be too often. We used it in place of the hidden hangers, so I don’t see how you could use it on existing gutters. It is probably the best for keeping pine needles out.
I would stay away from any kind of helmet. The water runs right over in a medium to heavy rain.

That is fine, the water table just dropped since you got better gutters that drain the water away from the house.

My sump only gets water in it when we irrigate our fields. After we irrigate the water table goes back down.

Ok, does anyone recommend LLC? What are the associated filing fees in PA?

The Pennsylvania Department of state has a web site that should tell you everything you need to know about registering a business in PA:

http://www.paopen4business.state.pa.us/paofb/site/default.asp

It is difficult to tell you what entity to choose without more information, but a straight C corp would probably be the easiest.
